The Grand Lodge of Scotland / Poppyscotland 2018
Sunday 26 August 2018
The Grand Lodge of Scotland and Poppyscotland entered into a joint venture to commemorate the end
of the Great War in 1918. This takes the form of visiting 31 Provinces the length and breadth of the
country where Provinces and Lodges lay wreaths at local War Memorials.
The Widows Sons Scotland are facilitating this venture by riding to each location on their motorcycles and hence provide a visible link and also raise funds for Poppyscotland.
On Sunday 26 August this event will take place in Paisley at the Cenotaph.
Brethren are requested to meet at Maxwellton Road in Paisley for 2 p.m. prompt for a briefing.
The WSS will arrive after a similar ceremony in Hamilton.
We will then proceed to the Cenotaph, car parking has been arranged at the Paisley Abbey precincts and is being supervised by PGL Marshall / Stewards.
Hopefully arriving at the Cenotaph for around 2.45 p.m. with the ceremony commencing at 3 p.m.
The PGM has given permission for Brethren to wear their Regalia and on this occasion Military
Decorations may also be worn.
The short service will be conducted by Bro. Rev. Robert Craig.
Donations from Lodges to Poppyscotland can be made on the day.
