Reigning Masters Degree at 1414 Raises Funds for Marcus Humphrey House

Lodge The Royal Stuart No.1414 hosted a Reigning Masters Degree on Monday, 22 May, that raised more than £730 for the benefit of Marcus Humphrey House.

Sixteen Reigning Masters from the Province of Renfrewshire East attended the event which attracted a total of 80 Brethren including a large Deputation from PGLRE headed by RWPGM Bro. Neil Fraser.

They witnessed a very fine exemplary EA Degree conferred by 13 of the attending Reigning Masters assisted by PG Chaplain, Bro. Pastor William Shirlaw.

Appropriately the candidate for the evening was Bro. Derek Bell, PM Lodge St Andrew No.524, who is the son of the late Bro. Ian Bell, PM and Secretary of 524 – the inspiration behind the inaugural fund-raising event for MHH held at Lodge St Andrew in East Kilbride last year.

RWM of Lodge The Royal Stuart, Bro. Edward Chamberlain, congratulated   those who had taken part in the Degree and thanked all who had attended the event which was followed by a very enjoyable Harmony.

He said: “This is the second time that a Reigning Masters Degree has been held in the Province the raise funds for Marcus Humphrey House and it was very fitting that Bro. Derek Bell stood in as candidate for the evening.

“I think it would be most appropriate if similar events in future were called ‘The Ian Bell Memorial Degree for Marcus Humphrey House’.”
