Lodge Sir George Cathcart No.617 Hosts Thursday Club

It was the turn of Lodge Sir George Cathcart No.617 to host the Thursday Club when it met on Thursday 30th May 2019.

The Club – involving the five lodges in the Province who hold their regular meetings on Thursdays – meets when there is a fifth Thursday in the month – allowing the brethren of these lodges and other visitors an opportunity to get together.

Apart from Lodge Sir George Cathcart, the others involved are Lodge Thistle & Crown No. 1167, Lodge Paisley St James No. 1116, Lodge Craigends No. 1042 and Lodge Newton Mearns No.1706.

After opening the Lodge, RWM Bro. William Sutherland welcomed a large Deputation from Lodge Thistle & Crown whose turn it was to confer a Degree which members of the three other lodges would witness.

The RWM then welcomed a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East headed by SPGM Bro. Ronald Fraser and including SPGM Bro Gavin Burt.

SPGM Bro. Ronald Fraser commented on the continued success of the Thursday Club noting that a total of 47 Brethren were present.

A well-worked exemplary FC Degree was then conferred by the Degree Team of Lodge Thistle & Crown followed by a most enjoyable Harmony.

During the evening Bro. Sam McNicol who was recently given Honorary Provincial Grand Rank of Almoner was presented with his framed certificate and inscribed jewel by SPGM Bro. Ronald Fraser.
