Lodge Georgetown Centenary Celebrations Continue

Centenary celebrations at Lodge Georgetown No.1170 continued on Saturday,19th May when a Deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland attended to carry out a Rededication of the temple.

The RWM of Lodge Georgetown, Bro. Hamilton McEwan, welcomed the Grand Lodge Deputation, headed by RWSGM, Bro. Hugh Clelland along with a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East headed by RWPGM, Bro. Neil Fraser.

The rededication ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of Lodge Georgetown was carried out with great dignity watched by the large number of brethren who packed the lodge in Penilee Road, Ralston, for the occasion.

Earlier in the month a Rededication of Regalia ceremony had been carried out by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East.

On that occasion a special Centenary Maul – crafted by Bro. David Jack, RWM of Lodge Glasgow St. John No.3bis and PM of Lodge Nitshill No. 1478 – had been presented to RWM Bro. Hamilton McEwan.

Following Saturday’s ceremony a special celebratory dinner was held that was greatly enjoyed by all who attended.
