Grand Lodge Degree Team Visits 307

Lodge Union & Crown No.307 received a rare honour on Tuesday, 4th April when four Brethren were raised as Master Masons by the Grand Lodge of Scotland.

The RWM of Lodge Union & Crown Bro. George McGrandles warmly welcomed the Grand Lodge deputation, headed by RW Depute Grand Master, Bro. Ramsey McGhee into the temple in Barrhead.

The large number of Brethren present were very appreciative of the first class degree work that followed with four FCs being raised by the Grand Lodge degree team.

Indeed the event had proved so popular that it had to be ticketed and the ceremony televised to an adjacent room to accommodate some of the extra visitors.

DPGM Bro. Robert McPhee who headed a deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East, said later: “The Grand Lodge team put on truly enjoyable and memorable degree.

“The unique nature of the event was not lost on any of us and it was a joy for the assembled brethren to witness a little bit of history being made.”

At the end of the ceremony, RWDGM Bro. Ramsay McGhee was given Honorary Membership of Lodge Union & Crown No. 307.
