Fun in the Sun at MHH Garden Fete

The sun shone down on the annual Marcus Humphrey House Garden Fete on Saturday, 9th June, as a large attendance of Brethren, relatives and friends enjoyed the fun on offer.

Invited guests included Bro. J. M. Marcus Humphrey of Dinnet, Past Grand Master, Rev Alan Sorensen, Depute Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire and Provost Martin Brennan from Inverclyde Council who opened the fund-raising fete in Quarriers Village, Bridge of Weir.

A popular attraction proved to be the colourful and spirited dancing by the young team of Nicola Boyle Highland Dancers.

The golf competition proved a tricky test even for the experts!

Meanwhile a golf competition, wine tombola, a whisky draw, and lucky programme raffles kept visitors busy and amused and the appearance of Star Wars characters caused a stir.

No one went hungry or thirsty either with hot dogs, burgers, baked potatoes, home baking, strawberry teas, a chocolate fountain and a soft drink stall all on offer.

PPGM, Bro. David A. Reid, Chairman of the Marcus Humphrey House Friends Group, warmly thanked all who had supported the Fete though sponsorship, donations and giving of their time. The total raised reached a magnificent £6,500.
