Extra Christmas Cheer for Bro. Pastor Bill Shirlaw

Bro. Pastor Bill Shirlaw and his congregation at Cathcart Congregational Church had an extra reason to celebrate on Christmas Eve.

For following a special service attended by Freemasons from all over the Province of Renfrewshire East, PGM Bro. John. S. Miller presented the PG Chaplain with cheques worth in total £1285 towards his Church.

This figure represented donations made by a number of lodges in the Province including PGL. Apart from that other lodges had already made their own donations direct to the Church bringing the total to over £1500.

The money will go towards a number of essential works including roof repairs and has earned the gratitude of Bro. Pastor Bill and his congregation.

Santa put in an appearance at the Christmas Eve service

There was also a surprise visitor at the Christmas Eve service when Santa – bearing an uncanny resemblance to PPGSW Bro. Eddie Chamberlain under the red cloak and white beard – made an early appearance!
