Christmas Cracker

The traditional race to pack the PGLRE Christmas parcels in record time took place on Sunday, 11th December, in the premises of Lodge Inchinnan No.1405. As in previous years the event was ably organised by PGM Designate Bro. Neil Fraser.

Despite a slight hiccup in the delivery of some of the goods, the well-drilled team of Brethren had all 484 bags of groceries and seasonal treats filled in just 27 minutes flat – yet again setting a new record!

Packed in record time and all lined up, the parcels are ready to go

The brightly coloured bags were then collected by representatives of daughter lodges for distribution to the homes of people throughout the Province who, for one reason or another, appreciate a little extra help.

Nearly all gone, some of the packers and organisers with the last of the parcels.

PGM, Bro. John S. Miller thanked all the Brethren concerned for their time and effort in making up and delivering the parcels and Morrison’s who supplied the goods at discounted prices.

He said: “We are proud of our tradition of giving a helping hand to those who need it, especially at this time of year. Many recipients appreciate the visit as much the Christmas parcel itself.”
