Lodge Pollokshaws Royal Arch No.153 held their annual Burns Supper on Tuesday, 26 January, along with a surprise for the main speaker of the evening, SPGM Bro. Willie Fleming.

For at the end of a short business meeting, RWM Bro. Drew Calderwood invited the SPGM to become an Honorary member of the lodge, an honour that Bro. Willie was delighted to accept.

Later in the evening the assembled Brethren and visitors, having been well-fed on the traditional fare of haggis. neeps and champit tatties, heard some splendid recitations by Bro. Martin Cassidy, an EA of Lodge Craigends No.1042 who is a Past President of Alloway Burns Club.

Bro. Ken Stein RWM of Lodge Newton Mearns No. 1706 who, along with RWM Bro. Jim Thomson of Lodge Paisley St James No. 1116, commented later that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable evening with excellent speakers, plenty of food and drink and good company.
