150th Anniversary of Lodge St John Busby No.458

Brethren of Lodge St John Busby No.458 celebrated the 150th anniversary of its founding on Saturday, 6th August – the exact day that the lodge’s Charter was granted by Grand Lodge a century and a half ago.

RWM Bro Stewart Henderson welcomed Deputations from Grand Lodge headed by PDGM Bro. Archibald M. McGown and Provincial Grand Lodge of Renfrewshire East headed by PGM Bro. John S.Miller along with a large number of visitors to the temple in Hawthorn Road, Busby.

Ceremonies of Re-consecration and Rededication were then carried out by members of PGLRE with great solemnity and style.

Following these ceremonies, PGM Bro. John S. Miller and IPPGM Bro. David A. Reid were installed as Honorary members of Lodge St John Busby.

During the commemorative dinner held later, the PGM Bro. John S. Miller warmly congratulated the RWM, Lodge Secretary. Bro. Brian Shields and all the Brethren of Lodge St John Busby for all their hard work in making it such a memorable occasion.

He also thanked RWM Bro. Stewart Henderson for his presentation of a cheque for £400 as a donation to Prostrate Scotland adding that the total now raised had reached £120,000 and was still rising.

The following week members of the Lodge and their guests were invited to attend a Civic Reception hosted by East Renfrewshire Council and were welcomed to Eastwood House where Provost Alastair Carmichael congratulated RWM Bro. Stewart Henderson and his Brethren on their 150th anniversary.
